Chris Smyth joins Pangea3 LLC as Director – Intellectual Property Services with a focus on bringing his expertise in the patent field to serve Pangea3’s clients.

Chris has been a registered Patent Agent since 2002, and spent several years at Thomas, Kayden, Horstemeyer & Risley, LLP in Atlanta preparing and drafting patent applications for various academic institutions, Fortune 500 corporations, technology start-ups, and independent inventors. He also successfully prosecuted a large number of patent applications, and has considerable experience with patentability, non-infringement, and patent invalidity analysis and opinions.

Chris furthered his expertise with his work as an IP Specialist with Evalueserve, a KPO provider. In this capacity, he consulted with decision makers within law firms, corporate patent counsel, venture capital firms and consulting firms to deliver intellectual property research and analytics services.

Chris is a frequent author and speaker on intellectual property and patent matters.

Chris received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently pursuing an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. He is a member of the Licensing Executives Society, Patent Information Users Group, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
